Hurricane Sandy Relief Collection
Our most heartfelt condolances go out to those who are affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. This was a storm of nearly unprescendented magnitude in the areas it struck, and the recovery efforts are just now beginning. It will take billions of dollars and countless hours of manpower to restore life to the way it was before the storm.
As a result of such loss, we have decided to collect an offering this Sunday, November 4, to aid in the relief of Hurricane Sandy. This donation will be distributed through Episcopal Relief & Development.
We are a student ministry, not a traditional parish, and this affects how much monetary support we can afford as individuals. With this in mind, however, we urge you to give as you are able to help those in need. Consider giving up those few cups of coffee to help those who have lost so much more than we.
In all this I have given you an example that by such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
